Mason Rudolph voices relief as Myles Garrett leaves the AFC North

Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph expressed his satisfaction regarding the departure of defensive end Myles Garrett from the AFC North. Garrett, who moved from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams, was famously involved in a 2019 altercation with Rudolph where the quarterback was struck with his own helmet. Rudolph confirmed that his teammates and coaching staff in Pittsburgh are also relieved to no longer face Garrett during divisional play. While the two players are linked by their past history, the 2026 schedule ensures they will not meet on the field unless their teams encounter one another in the Super Bowl. Rudolph currently remains on the Pittsburgh roster after spending time with the Tennessee Titans. The transition of Garrett to the NFC removes a perennial defensive threat from the Steelers' divisional schedule for the current season.
