Matheus Cunha backs Andrey Santos to perform for Manchester United

Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha expects teammate Andrey Santos to succeed this season despite a difficult start to his tenure at Old Trafford. Santos joined the club from Chelsea for £48 million this summer but was limited in his competitive impact during the opening-day loss in Hull. Manager Michael Carrick previously utilized the midfielder during the pre-season, though he has since shifted his starting preferences toward Kobbie Mainoo and other midfield options. Cunha, who remains in contact with his countryman, maintains that the 22-year-old possesses the necessary skills to contribute as the team manages a busy schedule that could include roughly 60 matches across all competitions. Santos currently looks to improve his integration into the team's tactical system while awaiting further opportunities to establish a larger role within the squad.
