Matt Fuller is expected to take on a leading role in South Carolina's running back lineup for the upcoming season. After limited carries in 2025, he showcased his speed and power with a 72-yard touchdown against LSU. Despite an inconsistent workload, Fuller aims to contribute significantly alongside other talented backs. His coach, Stan Drayton, indicated Fuller has made considerable progress and believes the best is yet to come. With the season approaching, Fuller remains focused on team success rather than individual accolades.

- 9:00 AMYahoo Sports — Is Matt Fuller the Gamecocks' top running back?
"COLUMBIA — It was there, as he shot through the line with nary an opposing hand on him, then shifted into rocket mode and blasted past LSU’s trailing defense to the end zone. That was why he was recruited to South Carolina, understandably sitting his first year while Raheim Sanders and LaNorris Sellers handled the rushing load and then getting a piddly seven carries in the Gamecocks’ first four games of 2025.
