Matt Jeffery earns wide receiver role on Notre Dame football depth chart

Notre Dame wide receiver Matt Jeffery has secured a spot among the team's top six receiving options for the upcoming season. The junior, who also competes for the Fighting Irish lacrosse team, moved into the rotation following a productive fall camp. Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock confirmed Jeffery's emergence within the offensive personnel group during recent evaluations. Jeffery previously saw limited game action in 2024 and 2025, recording his first career reception against Arkansas. He now joins a depth chart that features second-string positions on the wide side of the field. The two-sport athlete remains part of the Notre Dame roster as the team prepares for its season opener against Wisconsin.
