Matt Shaw is back with the Chicago Cubs after recovering from a left-hand sprain that sidelined him for two months. He was reinstated from the injured list ahead of the Cubs' seven-game homestand against the Cincinnati Reds. In five rehab games with Triple-A Iowa, Shaw batted.316, contributing six hits and four RBIs. With Dansby Swanson out until late September, Shaw may split time in the infield, primarily at second base, while continuing to support the outfield position.
