Matthew Golden anticipates expanded role with Packers for 2026 NFL season

Summary

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden enters his second NFL season expecting a larger role in the team's passing attack. The 23-year-old recorded 361 receiving yards and no touchdowns on 29 catches across 14 games during his rookie year. Green Bay relies on the passing game to support quarterback Jordan Love while the defense manages the early-season absence of pass rusher Micah Parsons. The team also faces uncertainty regarding the status of running back Josh Jacobs. Golden aims to improve on his previous output as the Packers prepare for their opening game against the Minnesota Vikings. This matchup is scheduled for this Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
