Matthew Stafford and Myles Garrett to wear special patches in 2026

In a historic first, the Los Angeles Rams will feature both reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford and Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett on their roster for the 2026 season. To honor their achievements from the previous season, Stafford and Garrett will wear gold shield patches on their uniforms. This marks the first time two MVP and Defensive Player of the Year award winners are teammates. The Rams showcased these gold patches during media day. Stafford led the league in touchdown passes and passing yards in 2025, while Garrett set a single-season sack record with 23. They are part of a select group of award winners, including Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tetairoa McMillan, and Carson Schwesinger, who will also wear similar patches.
