Pochettino could become the first USMNT coach to work consecutive World Cups since Bruce Arena, and he'll have the opportunity to lead the team through qualifying, a Gold Cup, and likely the 2028 Copa America in the United States.

Mauricio Pochettino could be looking at a full cycle as the USMNT head coach.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly agreed to a contract extension with the USMNT following the 2026 World Cup. Pochettino’s existing contract expired after the tournament, but he is now set to stay for at least another four years.

While Mauricio Pochettino's initial two-year tenure in charge of the USMNT didn't quite translate to tangible growth at the World Cup, strides were made from a federation standpoint, and it appears they have convinced him to stay.
