Mauricio Pochettino extends USMNT contract through 2030 World Cup

Mauricio Pochettino will remain head coach of the U.S. men’s national team through the 2030 World Cup, as announced by U.S. Soccer on August 3, 2026. The U.S. has a record of 17–12–2 under Pochettino, including three wins at the recent World Cup. Despite a disappointing round of 16 exit against Belgium, U.S. Soccer praised Pochettino’s potential for further development. His contract includes an advisory role to enhance youth and technical development. The funding for Pochettino's salary continues to come from hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin, along with additional support from other investors.
