Maverick McNealy secures BMW Championship spot, Spieth and Mitchell miss cut

At the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis on August 16, Maverick McNealy secured a spot in the BMW Championship by finishing 49th in FedExCup points after birdying two of his last seven holes. Keith Mitchell, who started the week ranked 49th, fell short after tying for 34th, finishing outside the top 50. Jordan Spieth also failed to qualify, finishing tied for 19th and remaining outside the top 50 for the third year in a row. McNealy's performance contrasts with the previous year, where five players entered the top 50 in Memphis. Sungjae Im was the only player this week to move into the top 50.
