Mavs consider hiring Jon Scheyer as coach to support Cooper Flagg
Summary

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in hiring Jon Scheyer, head coach at Duke, in a move to build around young player Cooper Flagg. The Mavs recently parted ways with head coach Jason Kidd and are under new team president Masai Ujiri. Scheyer, who has coached Flagg and Dereck Lively II at Duke, faces challenges in leaving the program he has led for four seasons. There is speculation about how Cooper Flagg might influence this decision, as he could have a preference for his former coach's hiring. The Mavericks hold picks Nos. 9 and 30 in this week's NBA Draft, and they may enter the draft without a head coach if a decision is not made soon.
