Max Fried was placed on the 15-day injured list by the Yankees on August 14 due to a recurrence of a left elbow bone bruise. This injury is the same one that previously sidelined him for ten weeks earlier this season. Fried has made five starts since returning, allowing only five runs and striking out 29 batters over 24 and two-thirds innings. Carlos Rodon will take Fried's spot in the rotation and is set to start against the Orioles on Tuesday after missing roughly six weeks with elbow inflammation. Other notable injuries include Hunter Goodman, who remains day-to-day with a shoulder issue, and Tyler Soderstrom, who is on the injured list with a left hip impingement.
