Max Fried starts against former team as Yankees face Braves

Max Fried takes the mound for the New York Yankees against the Atlanta Braves at Yankee Stadium, marking his first matchup against his former team. The game is currently delayed due to rain, with Fried aiming to support the Yankees as they chase playoff positioning in the tightly contested AL East. The Braves, leading the NL East, look to maintain their momentum following an eight-game winning streak. Tyler Mahle makes his debut for Atlanta after being acquired to bolster the rotation. Ryan McMahon, who has had success against Mahle, will bat lower in the order as the Yankees adjust their lineup.
