MCC Coventry under-13 boys defeat Sheffield in national cricket final

The MCC Coventry under-13 boys cricket team secured a 38-run victory against Sheffield during the MCC Foundation National Hubs Programme final. Held on 5 September at the Nursery Ground at Lord's, the match saw the Coventry side post 139-8 in their allotted 20 overs after being put in to bat. Captain James Williams contributed 23 runs, while Muhammad Hashim led the scoring with 44. In response, Sheffield managed 101-9, with Hashim taking 2-14 and Williams also claiming a wicket. The MCC Foundation oversees more than 220 hubs across the country, providing free cricket training and matches to state-educated students up to age 16. This event served as the conclusion to the national competition, offering young players from the West Midlands the opportunity to perform at the historic London venue.
