Medina/Pingree-Buchanan volleyball eyes state title following 2025 runner-up finish

Head coach Jacie Connell enters the 2026 volleyball season leading the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan program with aspirations of securing a Class B state championship. The Thunder recently opened their campaign at the Northern Cass Tournament, recording three wins, a tie, and one loss. Following a 2025 season that included a Region 1 title and an appearance in the state championship match, the team returns key starters including setter Violet Bohl, outside hitter Destiny Opp, and libero Marly Hoffmann. The squad prepares for its next regional competition against Barnes County North on September 3 in Pingree. Despite the graduation of 2025 Senior Athlete of the Year Brynn Sorenson, the program maintains a roster featuring 55 athletes across grades 7 through 12. Coaches and staff emphasize the team's defensive depth and competitive chemistry as central components for the upcoming season.
