Mercedes Moné teases potential match with Bayley at AEW WrestleDream

At the start of this month, WrestleVotes reported that Bayley’s WWE contract is up at the end of this year. While that’s months away, the scoopster noted that a new agreement wasn’t in place at this point and that neither side is saying anything about how negotiations are going… if they’re going at all. Bayley herself said last April she had “a year and a half left” on her existing deal, before telling Chris Van Vliet: “And then what? Man, I don’t know. I think I’ve done everything I really want to do, not everything. There’s still a lot I want to get done, but done so much with WWE and I’ve been here for already 12 years. And there’s like a huge wave of women coming in that I think are ready to take over and ready to be in those spots.” The woman Bayley inspired many in that “huge wave” with, Mercedes Moné, has an idea of what her TakeOver: Brooklyn dance partner can do next. In the wake of a thrilling-if-heartbreaking win over Maya World to claim her second straight Owen Hart Cup at Forbidden Door last night (June 28), Moné posted about another round with the Hugger-turned-Role Model. This time The CEO envisions them facing off at AEW WrestleDream this October, and Bayley will be wrestling old her old name from the indies, Davina Rose. Mercedes put that in the midst of big batch of stuff on her Instagram Story today (June 29), right after signed collectibles of her two heroes: Bayley and the late, great Eddie Guerrero: Is Bayley working on her release, or is Moné just working us… and maybe herself. Bayley’s a fixture on WWE television, but many feel she’s often underutilized and sometimes even disrespected. Or will Bayley, who’s already begun working with future generations at the Lodestone training camps she funds and runs, follow AJ Styles’ path and take one more WWE talent contract before accepting a job in WWE Developmental?
