Merritt Island rallies to win conference final against Satellite in five sets

Merritt Island defeated Satellite in a gripping Cape Coast Conference final on September 23, taking the match 25-21, 16-25, 25-14, 25-27, 15-11. After trailing in the fifth set, Merritt Island surged ahead to secure the championship, marking their 25th conference title. Junior Lydia Scott led the way with a career-high 29 kills, while senior setter Amber Ives notched a double-double with 67 assists and 25 digs. Despite the loss, Satellite managed to extend the match to five sets for the first time in 30 meetings against Merritt Island. The Mustangs improved to 13-3 and will host Titusville on September 28.
