Merritt Island ended a two-match losing streak by defeating Satellite in four sets on September 1. Playing at home, the Mustangs secured the victory with set scores of 25-19, 9-25, 25-17, and 25-19. Ema Michell paced the team with 17 kills, 13 digs, and 4 aces, while teammate Lydia Scott recorded 16 kills and 11 digs. Despite a second set where the team scored a season-low nine points, Merritt Island regrouped to close out the match. Head coach Angie Patrick noted the team's ability to recover after the lopsided second set. The Mustangs, now 5-2, are scheduled to host Osceola on September 3.
