Lionel Messi of Inter Miami has been named among the first 11 players for the MLS All-Star Game scheduled for next month in Charlotte, North Carolina. The selection was made through a combined vote of players, fans, and media, highlighting five players currently on World Cup rosters, including South Korea's Son Heung-min and Americans Tim Ream and Sebastian Berhalter. The MLS team will compete against a squad from the Mexican league on July 29. Other players included in the initial list are goalkeeper Brian Schwake, defensive backs Anthony Markanich and Andy Najar, midfielders Zavier Gozo and Hany Mukhtar, and forward Hugo Cuypers. The final lineup will feature additional players chosen by the All-Star coach and the MLS commissioner.
