Mets' Francisco Alvarez begins rehab assignment in Triple-A

Francisco Alvarez of the Mets starts a rehab assignment Tuesday, catching four innings for Syracuse. He is recovering from meniscus surgery on May 14. Alvarez has progressed well in his recovery, hitting and catching bullpens in recent days. Additionally, Kodai Senga is set to pitch for Syracuse on Wednesday night, his third rehab appearance since being sidelined with lumbar spine inflammation in late April. Senga allowed three runs in his previous outing and will aim to throw approximately 85 pitches this time.
