Mets hire Derek Falvey as senior adviser for baseball operations

The New York Mets appointed Derek Falvey as senior adviser for baseball operations on September 24, 2026. Falvey, who comes from the Minnesota Twins where he spent nearly a decade, will report to Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns. His previous tenure with the Twins included four playoff appearances. The appointment follows a recent agreement that allowed Falvey to leave the Twins amid a change in their organizational leadership. In addition to Falvey's hiring, the Mets named Andy Green their full-time manager and promoted Kris Gross to assistant general manager of scouting earlier this week.
