Mets reinstate Jorge Polanco, Luis Robert on rehab assignment

The New York Mets reinstated first baseman Jorge Polanco from the injured list on July 8, 2026, after a successful rehab assignment. Polanco had been playing at Binghamton and will now return to the Mets as a designated hitter. Center fielder Luis Robert is also on a rehab assignment, set to debut with Binghamton on July 8 after rain delays affected his schedule. Both players have struggled offensively this season, with Polanco batting.179 and Robert at.224. Mets interim manager Andy Green noted that both players still have additional minor league games ahead of them as they continue their recovery.
