Mets secure victory over Phillies behind Christian Scott's strong performance

Summary

In the series opener on July 16, the New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 at Citizens Bank Park. Christian Scott delivered a standout performance, allowing only three hits and striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings before Kyle Schwarber's double ended his night. Francisco Alvarez contributed significantly, hitting two home runs and increasing his season total to 11, while Brett Baty added another homer. Despite opportunities with runners on base, the Mets struggled in those situations, which raised concerns moving forward. The Mets look to build on this win after a rough series against the Boston Red Sox.
