Mets trade A.J. Minter to Twins as deadline approaches
Summary

The New York Mets have traded left-handed reliever A.J. Minter to the Minnesota Twins, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. This deal marks the Mets' initial move in what is expected to be a series of trades leading up to the August 3 deadline. Minter, who has a 2.35 ERA this season, is anticipated to bolster the Twins' bullpen as they pursue a playoff position, sitting just one game back of the final AL Wild Card spot. The Mets will receive prospects Bruin Agbayani and Billy Amick in exchange for Minter, who was on a two-year contract valued at $22 million.
