The Miami Dolphins acquired quarterback Kyle McCord from the Green Bay Packers on August 30, 2026, in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round draft pick. This move follows the Dolphins trading Quinn Ewers to the Jacksonville Jaguars and waiving quarterbacks Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski. McCord, a 2025 NFL Draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, spent the last year on the Eagles' practice squad before signing a reserve/future deal with Green Bay in January. During the recent preseason, he completed 22 of 35 pass attempts for 226 yards and four touchdowns in a comeback win against the Arizona Cardinals. McCord is expected to serve as the primary backup to Malik Willis on the Dolphins' roster. The organization retains his rights through the 2026 season under an exclusive rights free agent contract.
