Miami Dolphins explore new direction with Malik Willis as quarterback

Summary

The Miami Dolphins continue to reshape their roster as they bring in Malik Willis as their new quarterback for the 2026 season. Willis, a dual-threat option, faces scrutiny over his passing ability and the limitations of his supporting cast. With the departure of standout receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins aim to establish a competitive passing game under head coach Jeff Hafley, who is expected to implement a 'Packers South' approach. Analysts question whether Willis can elevate the offense amid a recent history of underperformance and low yardage production.
