Miami Dolphins name Malik Willis starting quarterback for 2026 NFL season

The Miami Dolphins have solidified their quarterback position ahead of the 2026 season by committing to Malik Willis as the starter. The roster adjustment followed a series of moves over the weekend, including the trade of Quinn Ewers and the waiving of Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski. Head coach Jeff Hafley acquired rookie Kyle McCord from the Green Bay Packers on Sunday to serve as the team’s only other quarterback. Willis, who joined the organization from Green Bay, now leads an offense that recently traded receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. With the current roster configuration, Miami faces a projected season total of 3.5 wins. The team is scheduled to open its regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders before facing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.
