Miami Heat lead pursuit for Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of NBA Draft
Summary

The Miami Heat are positioned as the leading contender to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo, with the possibility of a deal emerging in the near future. NBA insider Marc Stein indicates that both the Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers are actively pursuing the 31-year-old star, and resolution is anticipated in connection with the 2026 NBA Draft. While the Heat are favored, the Blazers are also considered a strong option, as sources suggest Antetokounmpo would consider a move to Portland. Meanwhile, discussions around the Boston Celtics show low interest in joining the pursuit, as the team seeks to maintain its current roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.
