Miami Hurricanes defeat Florida A&M Rattlers in home opener

The Miami Hurricanes opened their 2026 home schedule with a 77-7 victory over the Florida A&M Rattlers on September 10 at Hard Rock Stadium. Quarterback Darian Mensah completed 14 of 15 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. The Miami offense set a team record with 856 total yards during the game. Running back Mark Fletcher Jr. contributed two touchdowns on seven carries, moving into the top five of the school's all-time rushing touchdown list. Freshman Javian Mallory added 142 rushing yards and two scores on 10 carries. Defensively, the team held the opponent to limited opportunities while rotating younger players throughout the second half.
