Miami leads Florida A&M 49-0 at halftime in home opener

The No. 7 Miami Hurricanes hold a 49-0 lead over Florida A&M at halftime in their home opener on Thursday. Wide receiver Malachi Toney contributed four receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown during the opening half. Toney recorded a 19-yard scoring catch from quarterback Darian Mensah in the second quarter and also hauled in a 52-yard reception over Florida A&M defensive back Frank Callum. The Hurricanes reached the end zone on every drive during the first half except for their final possession, where the team opted to take a knee before the break. This performance marks the third time in program history that Miami has scored 49 points in the first half of a game. Toney, the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year, entered the contest following a 234-yard receiving performance in a win over Stanford last week.
