Michael Carrick expands Manchester United midfield with new signings

Summary

Manchester United has added Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to its midfield this summer under manager Michael Carrick. Carrick aims to rejuvenate the team's central play after a period of inconsistent midfield performance. The club pursued a third target, Carlos Baleba, with a £60m offer, reflecting a shift in their transfer strategy marked by more value-oriented signings. Carrick emphasized the importance of both talent and character in the new recruits, as he seeks to improve the overall balance of the team.
