Michal Postava earns shot with Red Wings in 2026-27 NHL season

Summary

Michal Postava, a 24-year-old goaltender, is expected to compete for a spot on the Detroit Red Wings roster for the 2026-27 NHL season. Signed as a free agent from the Czechia league, Postava stands out as the No. 4 prospect on the team’s depth chart. His performance in the AHL has been notable, with a goals-against average of 1.71 in 25 regular season games and a.937 save percentage. Although he faces competition from Trey Augustine, Postava’s consistent play may position him for an NHL call-up if injuries occur among the primary goalies. The upcoming season may ultimately determine his readiness for the NHL.
