Michigan basketball coach Mike Boynton Jr. provided updates on several players sidelined during the team’s recent European exhibition tour. Freshman guard Brandon McCoy Jr. will miss the 2026-27 season after suffering a torn ACL in the final exhibition game against Mega Superbet. Center Moustapha Thiam missed the remainder of the trip after sustaining a minor lower right leg injury in the first game. Redshirt sophomore Ricky Liburd remained out due to a non-invasive procedure for a hip impingement but is expected to participate in the upcoming practice season. Forward Jalen Reed and Lincoln Cosby also missed the overseas exhibition games while rehabbing previous injuries.
