Michigan fans debate quarterback Bryce Underwood before facing Oklahoma

Summary

The Michigan Wolverines host the Oklahoma Sooners at noon ET this Saturday at Michigan Stadium. Michigan enters the matchup 1-0 following a 13-12 victory over Western Michigan, which concluded on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Underwood to JJ Buchanan on an untimed final play. Following that narrow result, fan opinion is divided regarding Underwood's performance and his starting status. Head coach Kyle Whittingham designated true freshman Tommy Carr as the primary backup quarterback, positioning him ahead of transfer Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi on the depth chart. Oklahoma, led by quarterback John Mateer, opened its season with a 51-0 win against UTEP on September 4. The status of the Michigan quarterback position remains a focal point for observers as the team prepares for its first contest against the Sooners.
