Michigan football team to wear all-maize uniforms against Western Michigan

The Michigan football team will wear all-maize uniforms for its season opener against Western Michigan at Michigan Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. This uniform choice marks only the third time in program history the team has worn the all-maize look. The team previously wore the style in 1928 against the U.S. Naval Academy and in 2017 during the AdvoCare Classic against Florida to celebrate the university’s bicentennial. This game also serves as the head coaching debut for Kyle Whittingham at Michigan. The decision to feature the monochromatic look during a home game under the lights deviates from the program's traditional uniform selections.
