Michigan State football ranked near the bottom of CBS Sports poll

Michigan State football is ranked No. 66 in CBS Sports' preseason poll, which includes 138 FBS teams. The Spartans are positioned as one of the lower-ranked teams in the Big Ten, only ahead of Purdue, which is ranked No. 82. Wisconsin and Rutgers follow closely behind at Nos. 60 and 62, respectively. Of the opponents on Michigan State's schedule, only Toledo (No. 107) and Eastern Michigan (No. 118) rank lower. The team is looking to improve upon this ranking as they head into the upcoming season.
