Michigan State hires Daniel Schlereth for baseball coaching staff

Michigan State baseball has appointed Daniel Schlereth to its coaching staff to lead operations, technology, and pitching development under coach Jake Boss. A former MLB pitcher, Schlereth spent three seasons with the Detroit Tigers from 2010 to 2012. He was originally a first-round draft pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks and made his major league debut in 2009. Following his professional playing career, he transitioned into college coaching, serving as the pitching coach at Western Michigan in 2022 before spending the last two seasons at USF. The addition brings professional experience to the Spartans' program as they look to build out their technical approach. Schlereth enters the role immediately as the team prepares for the upcoming collegiate season.
