Michigan State linebacker Jordan Hall sits out game against Eastern Michigan

Michigan State linebacker and team captain Jordan Hall is unavailable for the Spartans' home game against Eastern Michigan on September 12, 2026. Hall, who suffered an injury to his right elbow during the season opener against Toledo on September 4, appeared in pregame warmups wearing a protective brace. The team will instead look to sophomores Brady Pretzlaff and Caleb Wheatland to anchor the defense in his absence. Hall previously played through the injury after halftime in the win over Toledo. Michigan State also confirmed that wide receiver KK Smith and defensive tackle Carlos Hazelwood are not in uniform for the matchup. Eastern Michigan enters the game with a 1-1 record, led by former Michigan State quarterback Noah Kim.
