Michigan State seeks new athletic director after J Batt departs for Kentucky

J Batt has reportedly signed a 6-year deal to become the next athletic director at Kentucky, leaving Michigan State in search of a replacement. The announcement of the contract's finalization came from ESPN's Pete Thamel, although neither school has made an official statement. Batt was hired by Michigan State less than a year ago, succeeding Alan Haller. His tenure included initiatives such as founding Spartan Ventures and hiring Pat Fitzgerald as head football coach. With Batt's departure, Michigan State must find its third athletic director in two years to provide stability.
