Michigan State women's basketball opens practice with young roster

Michigan State University women's basketball initiated practice for the 2026-27 season on Sept. 22. The team features a new lineup with nine newcomers, including four freshmen and five transfers. Senior guard Sara Sambolić is one of six returners from a squad that reached the second round of the NCAA tournament last season. Coach Robyn Fralick noted that the team is among the youngest she has coached and is focusing on building chemistry among the new group., newcomer Lilly Williams, a highly-rated 6-foot-5 center recovering from eye surgery, is beginning to ramp up her practice.
