Middlesbrough has secured a one-year contract extension for goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin. The 38-year-old joined Boro from Swansea last September and has yet to make his first-team debut. He has served as a backup to Sol Brynn, the regular first-choice goalkeeper. McLaughlin is expected to remain with the club until next summer.
