Mike Babcock recruits Misha Donskov as Edmonton Oilers coaching consultant

The Edmonton Oilers hired Misha Donskov as a coaching consultant in late August. Mike Babcock, the team's new head coach, personally reached out to Donskov to initiate the recruitment process. The pair previously worked together on the staff during the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. In this new role, Donskov will visit Edmonton for approximately six days each month while providing remote support to the staff the rest of the time. Despite the new NHL responsibilities, Donskov will maintain his position as Hockey Canada’s vice president of hockey operations and his head coaching duties for the men’s national team ahead of the World Juniors this December.
