Mike Evans records first touchdown for 49ers against Rams

Mike Evans caught his first touchdown as a member of the San Francisco 49ers during their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. The veteran receiver secured a two-yard pass from quarterback Brock Purdy midway through the third quarter to give the 49ers a 17-7 lead. Evans joined the 49ers this offseason following 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He contributed to the 49ers' offense throughout the game, logging six catches for 49 yards and delivering multiple third-down conversions. The team ruled out tight end Jake Tonges with a knee injury and wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling with an ankle injury during the contest. The game remains in progress.
