Mike Hill joins NCAA to lead men’s basketball operations

Former UNC Charlotte athletic director Mike Hill has accepted a role as the NCAA’s vice president of men’s basketball. Hill will oversee the sport’s operations, including the administration of March Madness and the Final Four. He previously served as the athletic director at UNC Charlotte for seven years before leaving that position in October 2025. Following his departure, Kevin White moved into the role at the university in March. Hill described the new position as a significant opportunity to manage one of the most prominent events in sports. He assumes the role effectively immediately following his tenure at the collegiate athletic department level.
