Mike Tomlin evaluates Tua Tagovailoa ahead of Pittsburgh Steelers versus Atlanta Falcons

Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin discussed the upcoming Week 1 game between the Steelers and the Atlanta Falcons during his appearance on NBC. Tomlin commented on the performance of Atlanta quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, referencing a previous game in Pittsburgh where Tagovailoa was benched following an interception-heavy season. The Steelers defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-15 in that 2025 contest, which led to the benching of Tagovailoa for the remainder of that season. Tomlin expressed that the focus for the opening matchup lies more with the potential struggles of Tagovailoa than with Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers and Falcons are scheduled to face each other in a few days to begin the season. Analysts continue to monitor team preparations as the Week 1 showdown approaches.
