Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young signed a one-year contract extension at the end of July, securing his position through the 2027-28 season. The agreement includes a $3 million annual salary and adjusted buyout terms. Young, who has led the program for seven seasons, holds a 124-98 overall record but has not achieved a winning record in ACC play over the last four years. The 2026-27 roster will feature 14 players, including top returnees Amari Hansberry, Ben Hammond, and Tyler Johnson. Young has supplemented the squad with nine newcomers, headlined by seven transfers including Kuol Atak, Jaylen Curry, Isaiah Elohim, and Ethan Copeland.
