AC Milan has confirmed the loan of Zachary Athekame to Olympique Lyonnais for the 2026/27 season. The deal, finalized today, is a dry loan with no option for Lyon to make it permanent. Milan signed Athekame from Young Boys for €10m last year, but the 21-year-old defender recorded only two goals and two assists in 29 appearances. The Ligue 1 club is expected to cover his full salary during the loan period. Athekame’s contract with Milan runs until June 2030, and he will aim to regain his form in France.
