Miles Russell from Jacksonville Beach has been named to the U.S. Walker Cup team, announced by the USGA on July 9. The 17-year-old is among the first four players selected for the team, which will compete against Great Britain and Ireland at Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland on September 5-6. Russell joins experienced players Preston Stout and Ethan Fang, as well as Tyler Watts, with all four making up a mix of proven players and rising talent. The final ten-man team will be determined following the U.S. Amateur Championship scheduled for August 10-16. Russell is currently ranked fifth in the World Amateur Ranking and is participating in the PGA Tour's ISCO Championship this week.
