The Reach the Beach Relay will not take place in 2026 after Millennium Running acquired the event from Ragnar and FitLab. The 200-plus-mile race, which traditionally spans from Lancaster to Hampton Beach, was cancelled following the rejection of a special-use permit by New Hampshire State Parks. Agency officials cited an unpaid bill of approximately $38,500 and outstanding reimbursements owed to local police departments for security details from the previous year. Millennium Running plans to resolve these financial obligations as part of its takeover. Current registered teams will receive guaranteed entry for the 2027 event. Reach the Beach co-founder Mike Dionne is joining the Millennium Running staff to assist with the transition and future planning.
