Millwall signs Romain Esse on loan from Crystal Palace

Millwall has re-signed winger Romain Esse from Crystal Palace on a loan agreement through the end of the season. The 21-year-old previously played for Millwall for over 60 appearances before his £12m transfer to Crystal Palace in January 2025. Esse struggled to secure regular playing time at Selhurst Park and spent the latter half of the previous campaign on loan at Coventry City, where he recorded two goals in 17 league appearances. The move serves as an immediate replacement for Femi Azeez, who transferred to Brighton & Hove Albion on deadline day. Millwall director of football Steve Gallen stated the club intends to provide the player with consistent playing opportunities. The loan deal was finalized shortly before the transfer window closed on Tuesday night.
